Description

Vintage Commodore 64 Prologic-DOS cartridge expansion module, dating from the mid-1980s. This is an original piece of hardware from the Prologic-DOS high-speed disk system, designed to significantly improve data transfer and loading speeds between the Commodore 64 and Commodore 1541 disk drive. The cartridge features original period components, including an EPROM, 6821 PIA interface chip and several 74-series TTL logic ICs. The board also includes a DIP switch, push button and expansion connectors. The module was designed to work together with additional Prologic-DOS hardware installed inside the 1541 disk drive. A very interesting and relatively uncommon piece of vintage Commodore hardware, particularly suitable for collectors of C64 peripherals, disk drive acceleration systems and 1980s computer technology. The cartridge is sold as pictured; please carefully examine the photos for its cosmetic and technical condition. Prologic DOS Classic is a fast loader that consists of a module on the 1541 disk drive and another module connected via the C64's user port. The two are connected via a parallel cable, enabling a speed that is a whopping 200 times faster than normal.
